Completion of the construction of Solvay Silvia-1 in Włocławek

The confirmation of completion of the installation for the production of amorphous precipitated silica for chemical company Solvay in Włocławek is the obtaining of a occupancy permit, which was issued on 28 October 2014 by the Building Supervision Inspector of the City of Włocławek.

 

 

The company Solvay, an international chemical company has entrusted PPROCHEM in the last days of December 2012 the implementation of a new investment consisting in the construction of the installation for the production of precipitated amorphous silica in the Chemical Plant in Anwil Włocławek under the graceful name of SILVIA 1. This is the second chemical plant of company Solvay in Poland, the first one was in Gorzów Wielkopolski. The planned volume of production at the plant is 80 thousand Mg/year, and the company assumes the possibility of extension of the installation in order to increase production to 100 thousand Mg/year.

Plant in Włocławek is the ninth in the world producer of highly dispersed silica. Silica is used for large-scale production of tires, and also is used in a wide range of industrial applications, personal hygiene and nutrition.

As part of the agreement PROCHEM has performed engineering services in scope of so-called “EPCM” (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management), which means design and engineering works, delivery and construction management, and a full range of engineering services, organization of tenders and purchases, supervision of construction along with cost control and preparation of a schedule. PROCHEM also took part in operations of technological start-up and has prepared an application for the issuance of a occuapncy permit for the investment.
