Prestigious award “The Construction of the Year” for PROCHEM

In this year’s jubilee edition of the competition, the judges have evaluated 45 investments and have selected the Winners in nine categories.
PROCHEM for the realization of investment “Installation for production of the dispersed amorphous silica in Wloclawek at 380 Toruńska Street” won the 1st degree award in the Industrial Buildings category. Thus, our Company received the prestigious title of the “Construction of the Year 2014”.

First degree award is the confirmation of the complying with all criteria of the competition by the investment project in Wloclawek at the very high level. The facility was reported to the competition together by PROCHEM S.A., who was performing the works in the scope of GRI (management contracting) and the Investor – the international chemical company SOLVAY ADVANCED SILICAS POLAND Sp. z o.o. A very nice ceremony of the giving of the award Construction of the Year held on 23 June 2015 in the building of the Federation of Engineering Associations in Warsaw. The first degree award “Construction of the Year” was received by the Vice President of PROCHEM S.A. Marek Kiersznicki acting on behalf of PROCHEM and SOLVAY.

The plant for production of silica it is the second chemical plant of the concern SOLVAY in Poland and the 119th in the world. The plant produces highly dispersed silica (used for large-scale production of – among others automobile tires, and also in the scope of industrial applications, personal care and nutrition). Installation in Wloclawek is one of the most modern chemical plants of this type in the world and one of the largest chemical investments carried out in recent years in Poland.

It is worth reminding that the design documentation for silica plant developed by PROCHEM SA was honored and appreciated before – in May 2015 in the competition organized by the Chamber of Construction Designing obtained the title “Design of the Year 2015”.
