Award in „Construction Project of the year 2009” competition

Competition “Construction Project of the year” is organised by the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians (PZITB) every year with participation of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the General Office of Building Control. The purpose of the competition is appointing building objects, at realization of which distinguishable results were reached. In the last years this competition became one of the most prestigious reviews of achievements of the Polish building industry.

In this year’s jubilee 20 edition of the competition to third, the definitive stage was categorised 60 construction projects put forward by investors, developers and local governments. Implementation projects in nine categories (residential constructions, office buildings, industrial plants, public utility buildings and facilities, schools, sports facilities, revaluations and roads and railroads) were awareded and distinguished. Objects entered for a contest were characterized by a very high level of structural and functional solutions. Criteria of three-degree evaluations concerned also the modernity, the cost-effectiveness, the quality of the workmanship, the safety, the working conditions, the organization of the construction process and the lead time. Announcement of results of the competion and ceremonial giving awards to laureates was held on 29 June this year in Dom Technika NOT in Warsaw.
